Concordia Humana motto

  • Thank-you Letters from the Solar Cooker Project
The Jewish World Watch Solar Cooker Project thanks Concordia Humana for recent donations of over $5,500 this past summer. The donations helped fund the production and distribution of over 60,000 solar cookers to refugee camps in Chad.
  • First Christmas in July fundraiser a huge success!
Concordia Humana kicked off its second project with a bang today, collecting 1076 pounds of nonperishable food for Cincinnati's FreeStore Foodbank in Loveland, Ohio. Special thanks to the volunteers who collected all day in the 90º heat and, of course, to everyone who donated.
  • Summer of Donuts Begins!
Congratulations to the parishioners of St. Margaret of York (Loveland, OH) and St. John the Evangelist (West Chester, OH), who raised a combined total of $1637 in the first donut sales of the summer! Donuts for Darfur

- Facebook - Twitter

"Does not the display of dead daughters dragged through dirt deteriorate your delight? Do demonstrations of detrimental and deleterious dealing damper your disposition? The deduced determination? Dollar donuts defend the day! The different dangers due to digesting donuts do not deter denizens from defending Darfur. Neither dragons nor disasters need you defeat. Now directly dent your "dough" and distend your dignity, for this day we dine on donuts."

Donuts for Darfur started in 2008 by selling donuts to raise anti-genocide funds at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, OH. Donuts for Darfur began as a small group of students who were interested in helping victims of the Darfuri genocide and saw the great potential of breakfast as a fundraiser in a school full of teenage boys.

We currently work with Busken Bakery, Ridge Donut Shop, and Kroger grocery stores for our donated stock. Their immense generosity has allowed us to expand and grow from non-existence to non-profit in only 11 months. Additionally, several local storefronts throughout the Loveland, OH area have agreed to set up jars for donations at their cash registers - a source of revenue that has covered costs (napkins, cups, etc.) for each donut sale, as well as purchase of extra donuts themselves. (The sale of the purchased donuts actually generates more revenue than the initial donation total; thus, Donuts for Darfur acts as an investment plan for our raw donation funds.)

The money raised from Donuts for Darfur goes to the Jewish World Watch's Solar Cooker Project, a peaceful initiative toward ending violence against women in Darfur. Every $30 raised buys a family one solar cooker and a year's worth of cooking supplies.
